The process takes about 30 minutes to just over an hour depending on the number of people on your bus or if there is a bus before yours.

Be prepared to offer an address of where you are staying on either side - in Chile or Argentina. We suggest having everything ready for them when you walk up to the counter to prevent delays.

For an even more relaxed experience, consider their "cama" seating, which provides ample space and comfort. We've found that it is better to buy the tickets directly through the bus site or at the office to avoid unwanted/unnecessary fees. Third party sites tend to be much more expensive, Our personal preference for the route from El Calafate to El Chaltén was Chalten Travel . (depending on what time you arrive of course - there are bus schedules running throughout the day). Their buses are reliable, and we found the drivers to be exceptionally friendly, adding a warm touch to the scenic drive.
